The farmers in this area historically tended livestock, but often travelled to the regions of Jaen and San Ignacio to work as coffee pickers for additional income. Over time, they began to bring seeds back to their own plots and found that varieties like caturra, typica, and bourbon grew well in their cooler climate.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCoffee is now a foundation of the agriculture for farmers here and we're excited to see how quality continues to develop in this newer region.
