This community lot comes from 11 producers in Puebla and is part of Crop to Cup's Good Coffee Program in Mexico, a direct export channel introduced in 2023, from which we also purchased from last year. The goal for the Good Coffee Program is to provide market access to smallholders in more remote and lesser known regions of Mexico. Through a structure of fast, transparent payments with incentives based on quality – coupled with technical support, quick cupping feedback and direct connection with buyers, Crop to Cup has created an environment where smallholders are incentivized to participate in specialty export and have the opportunity to earn more for their harvest through quality practices.
Through the the GCP network of service providers, Crop to Cup was able to keep the overhead low for milling and export, allowing 81.81% of the FOB price to go directly to producers this year. We're excited to continue supporting this program with this tropical and densely sweet lot from a group of women-producers in Totutla.
